There's a new Upgrade Shop that you can access from the Hub area. You might lose upgrades when damaged in combat. Next update will be more enemies or improvements to the level generation.

Also I got some feedback that the Linux version was bugged. I've looked into it and I think I've fixed it, so if it didn't work before, it should work now.

FINALLY!!! After disappearing up my own ass for so long, I've finally got something to show for it! Hot Shots now has a functioning random dungeon generator which gives more of a sense of what I will want the final game to be like. There are now 3 playable characters. I've also created a Discord server where I can share announcements and facilitate feedback, if Hot Shots looks promising to you, please sign up and let me know what you think.

As you guys know, I started making several games over the last few years, and I never stuck with them because they didn't feel fun to me. But Hot Shots? Hot Shots is FUN!!! It definitely needs more work, but I finally have something that feels like it's got potential.

Still working on the game, mostly some behind-the-scenes stuff, but also getting characters ready to go.

As you may have noticed, I decided to split Quest Caldera from the demo into 2 characters. I liked her ninja backstory, and I decided I want to work the ninja stuff more into her appearance and moveset. But there's no reason to throw out what I had, so I added a Cherufe character with the old outfit and animation.

Besides the characters you see, I have a few more concepts that I plan to flesh out, so hopefully there'll be lots and lots of characters in the final game.

I've decided to do palette swaps for everyone too. Here's an example:

As you can see, also keeping the original color scheme as an alternate.

In other news, I've discovered a cool Godot based VN engine called the Rakugo Framework. I'd like to take a brief detaur from my pure action game programming to get my feet wet and see what Rakugo can do. I don't specifically want to make a VN, but because it's in Godot, Rakugo should be able to switch between VN stuff like dialogs and menus and the arcade action scenes that will be the backbone of the game. Rakugo also has a save-game system which I hope will be easier than programming one myself.

But before I go too deep into that, I'm a few beeps and boops away from a playable demo, and I want to make that available first. Hopefully you can look forward to that this week, barring any more massive depression attacks... (ಠ_ಠ)

Hi everyone, I wanted a break from making the game, and ended up going down a super deep rabbit hole.

I started making a new NSFW comic, here is the current progress:

I have more planned, but not finished.

The Gryphon isn't actually done yet, which is why she's not in this video. Next update will probably be about her.

You can see it takes me a couple tries to do a decent run. If anyone has any suggestions about how to avoid getting stun-locked in tight spaces, I'd be interested. Enemies do not have pathfinding yet, which is why they're a bit dumb, but they are also perfect shots, so for now, it balances them out.

The name I went for is "Hot Shots". I don't think there's another game named that. I know about "Hot Shots Golf", but I think that is always with " Golf" in the title, so I feel like we're clear.

Hopefully we're getting close to a demo that I can upload somewhere so you can play it. I need to add a few more nicey nice features like a Pause button before I feel comfortable letting people try it.

Looking good so far.

Still here, not dead. I started "doodling" some outfits, and ended up making kind of a lot. I dunno if I'm going to do anything with them, but here they are for now.

Since I'm feeling completely adrift right now, I decided to switch things up. I've been working on a table-top skirmish series for YouTube.

It's still kinda rough, I'm interested to here what could be better.

Also, part of the fun of these kinds of games is coming up with lore and side-stories. If you guys feel inspired to come up with stuff like that, I'll do a video where I read that stuff. It can be as zany as you want as long as it's YouTube safe.

In the future, I'll try some games using my own Acheron Series characters, but for now, this is just something to have fun with.
